Training Centers for Empowerment of Women-Kashmir, India

Report by Project Lead: Samiya Drabu

June 30, 2015

Alhamdulillah, we were successful in inaugurating two training centersin Srinagar and Kashmir India for empowerment of women. These centers teach skills like tailoring, handycrafts and Quranic tafseer to aid in the sustainability of women in these poverty stricken areas.  Providing free resources and training to empower women and as a result help build stronger communities.

We have also identified 5 more villages in flood effected areas and plan to expand such training centres, particularly in the flood hit and educationally poor pockets of the State.

Establishing one training Centre costs about 8,000$ to run for one year.

We need 40,000$ more for five additional centers.

Please donate generously to enable us to alleviate the sufferings of the poor and deprived women folk of Kashmir India.

Insha, Allah, I will be visiting myself in August-September to personally ensure that each penny is utilized effectively.  May there be many blessings and reward for everyone who becomes part of it, Insha Allah.

Your sister, Samiya Drabu.
